Women's Lacrosse Dominates on the Road with Statement Win over Lee

CLEVELAND, TN. – The unanimous No. 1 ranked University of Tampa Spartans remain undefeated with a dominant performance on the road.

How It Happened

• The Spartans set the tone early as they scored nine unanswered in the first frame as the offense had four different goal scorers find the back of the net: Sarah Engle (3), Sophi Wrisk (3), Peyton Howell (2), Isabel McGarvey (1). Tampa would take a 10-1 lead into the second quarter.
• The second quarter of play was a lot of the same for the Tampa offense as they were able to again hold Lee to only one goal in the quarter, while the offense tallied seven goals.
• Howell would continue to find the net throughout the remainder of the game on her way to seven goals today.
• Isabella Avila had a productive day as she led the Spartans in draw controls (5) while adding three groundballs.
• The Spartans had an all-around impressive game on both sides of the ball as they led in nearly every statistical category; draw controls the Spartans dominated (22-8), groundballs (21-12), and clears (14-15).
• Tampa was also nearly perfect in clear attempts today as they won 14-of-15, all while limiting their turnovers to just 12 on the day.

• The Spartans will head back to Florida to continue their road trip as they will take on Florida Tech in a non-conference matchup. The two squads will face off this Friday, March 7, at 7 p.m. ET.
