Chelsea Treat is in her first season as an assistant coach at the University of Tampa.

Treat previously spent four seasons as an assistant coach at Belmont Abbey University for the women's lacrosse team, taking the lead role in the Crusaders' defensive efforts. She helped them to top-30 rankings in scoring defense each year, including 11th nationally (7.5 goals against per game) last year. The team also posted top 20 finishes in caused turnovers three times.

During the summer and fall of 2017, Treat served as interim head coach for Belmont Abbey.

Five Abbey players earned all-conference honors, including three underclassmen, and seven seniors earned degrees at commencement. Katelin Glass was one of those, earning Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.

Treat was a highly-decorated student-athlete for Limestone from 2010-13, twice earning All-America honors. She was an all-conference selection all four years, while adding all-region kudos three times. During her career, the Saints won four conference titles and made four NCAA Tournament appearances, reaching the national championship game twice. In 2011, she was named Conference Carolinas Player of the Year and was named to the watch list for the Tewaaraton Trophy.

A native of Penn Yan, N.Y., Treat graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 2009 where she played lacrosse.

She earned a degree in accounting from Limestone in 2013.
