Spartans Open Spring Season at Mayors Cup
Tampa competed in three events with four boats.
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa rowing team placed in three events on Saturday as it raced at the annual Mayors Cup.

Top Performers
- Tampa finished second in the Women's Collegiate Varsity/Open 2 with a time of 7:00.56. The Spartan boat included Taylor Pecci and Mary Grace Duethman.
- The Spartans placed two boats in the top three of the Women's Collegiate Novice 4+ as the A-boat was first with a time of 6:39.49. UT's team included Cassie Bricker, Maddy Merz, Samantha Stewart, Dom Rocheford and coxswain Kim Laguatan.
- The B-boat in the Women's Collegiate Novice 4+ for UT was tied for second with USF with an effort of 6:47.36. The group included Abbie Heupel, Hanna Vernetti, Madeyln Gimenez, Bridget Maxwell and coxswain Izzy Donabed.
- UT was also first with a time of 6:14.32 in the Women's Collegiate Varsity/Open 4+ from the team of Stephanie Pascual, Maxie-Lew Dunn, Rocheford, Sara Staats and coxswain Donabed.

The Spartans travel to Sarasota for the Florida Intercollegiate Rowing Association (FIRA) Championships on March 31.
