Spartans Fifth at SSC Championships
UT races in pair of events at annual competition.
SARASOTA, Fla. – The University of Tampa rowing team was among the teams at the 2017 Sunshine State Conference Championships.

Top Performers
- The Spartans were fifth in the Varsity 8+, with a time of 8:22.09. The UT boat included Daniela Espinosa (coxswain), Maxie-Lew Dunn, Brittany Kleiman, Sara Staats, Hanna Vernetti, Dom Rocheford, Maddy Merz, Samantha Stewart and Cassie Bricker.
- In the Varsity 4+, Tampa was fifth with a time of 8:02.63. The Spartan boat included Kim Laguatan (coxswain) Mary Grace Duethman, Stephanie Brouwer, Bridget Maxwell, and Abbie Heupel.
- Earning all-Sunshine State Conference honors for Tampa was Brittany Kleiman.
- Dom Rocheford was honored as part of the all-freshman team.

Tampa will travel to Philadelphia for the Dad Vail Regatta on Friday, May 12.
