Tampa, Fla. - The eighth-ranked University of Tampa women's soccer team got an early boost from freshman Jocelyn Charette as her first of a career high three goals came at the 4:36 mark in a 5-0 Spartan victory over visiting Flagler College. UT now stands at 7-1 on the season with an eight game winning streak as its home field unbeaten streak was extended to 25 matches.
Charette, who scored the first three Tampa goals, was assisted by Samantha Robinson on her initial score before adding an unassisted goal at 32:01. She completed the hat trick at the 47:59 mark as the assist was credited to Maria Mohammed.
Tampa leading scorer Shelby Kuni added the fourth goal of the evening on an unassisted score off the goalkeeper. Shannon Agnew finished off the scoring with her second goal in three matches. Agnew's goal at 75:38 was assisted by Courtney Evans and Sally Eagleton.
The Spartans outshot the Lady Saints by a 21-5 clip as Charette led the team with three while Robinson and Nicole Murphy added a pair apiece. Shannon Aitken started in goal for UT and recorded two saves en route to her third shutout of the season.
Tampa is back in action on Sunday as it faces Florida Tech. The match begins at 2:00 pm and will be played at Pepin Stadium.
