Bobby Johnston Named Regional Coach of the Year
TAMPA, Fla. - University of Tampa women's soccer coach Bobby Johnston has been named the NSCAA South Region Coach of the Year. The award marks the second consecutive for Johnston, who is the lone coach in UT program history to win the award.
Johnston led Tampa to the NCAA national semifinals for the first time in program history as the team won a school record 18 matches this season. The Spartans also won their second consecutive Sunshine State Conference regular-season title and league tournament crown. UT also won their first NCAA South Regional and Quarterfinal this season.
"This is a great honor considering all the quality coaches in this region," says Johnston . "It is a true reflection of this team's success and the hard work of our girls on our team."
