TAMPA, Fla. -- The University of Tampa women's soccer team won its second consecutive game Saturday, deafeating the University of West Georgia Wolves 4-0. Jazmin Perry led the Spartans with two goals to add to her team-leading five goals on the season.
Freshman Molly Gottlieb recorded her second goal of the season at the 21:15 minute mark when fellow freshman Courtney Peffley crossed a high ball and Gottlieb headed it into the back of the net. Caroline Spencer then assisted Perry as the Spartans took a 2-0 lead. Freshman Sara Kneeland scored a goal off a double assist from teammates Dana Palmiotto and Samantha Kay.
Perry collected her second goal of the game to end the scoring for the Spartans with an assist from Gottlieb. The freshman ended the game totalling one goal and an assist. Tampa finished the match with 19 shots and 10 on goal.
Saige Steinmetz started in goal for Tampa and was credited with the shutout. Steinmetz recorded four saves to earn consecutive shutouts.
The Spartans return to action on the road Sunday at 5 p.m. at Warner University.
