Spartan Women’s Soccer Set To Embark On Trip To Europe
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's soccer team will travel to Europe on Thursday for a 10 day trip that will feature stops in four countries with three games.
The original destination will be Venice, Italy as UT will play its first match on Friday in the Italian city of Pordenone against the A2 Italian team. The Spartans will then remain in Venice on Saturday for a day of sightseeing.
On Sunday, head coach Gerry Lucey and his team will leave for Maribor, Slovenia where the squad will also spend part of the day in the city of Ljubljana.
The second game of the trip will be played on Monday in Maribor. The contest will follow a day of sightseeing in the Austrian city of Graz. UT will head to Zagreb, Croatia on Tuesday to visit the sights and return to Maribor in the evening.
Wednesday's schedule will include a trip to Verona, Italy that will also consist of sightseeing along the route. A day in Verona will be capped off by the final game of the trip versus Fortitudo Mozzccane on Thursday evening.
Friday will include sightseeing in and around Verona prior to Saturday's return to the United States.
