Spartans Ready for Regional Clash Against Embry-Riddle
UT looks to build on two-game win streak as they take on the Eagles
TAMPA, Fla. – Winners of two straight conference matches, the University of Tampa women's soccer team will host Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Eagles for a 7 p.m. regional match.
The Matchup: University of Tampa (3-6-0 Overall) vs. Embry-Riddle (5-1-1 Overall)
• The Spartans and Eagles will face off for the second consecutive season with ERAU being a provisional member of the Sunshine State Conference. Last season, the Eagles won at home against Tampa by the narrow margin of 1-0 with a goal in the 77th minute.
• Both teams are averaging almost identical offensive stats. Tampa has averaged 10.2 shots/game while Embry-Riddle has averaged 13.9 shots/game. Their shots on goal percentage are .435 and .474 respectively and UT has 8 goals this season while ERAU has 10.

Last Time Out: UT traveled to Lakeland, Fla. to take on Florida Southern College in a midweek conference matchup. Tampa scored late in the game as Robyn-Anne Whittaker connected with Nastasia Asgedom in the 77th minute to give the team the only goal of the game and the victory. With the win, the team evened up their conference record at 2-2 following a come from behind over PBA last weekend in West Palm Beach, Fla.
About the Spartans: The Spartans will be looking to extend their win streak after defeating Florida Southern 1-0 in a midweek SSC matchup. On offense, the team is led by Nastasia Asgedom who leads the team with three goals and one assist while five other players have tallied one goal each. In net, Caroline Frykgard and Sydney Ross have split time with Frykgard having 20 saves and Ross having 15 saves.
About the Eagles: The Eagles are coming off a 3-0 victory over Eckerd at home last Wednesday, with the win marking their sixth shutout of the season. On offense, the team has four players that have scored two goals each and combined for four assists. In net, Fanny Kristiansson has played in every game and tallied 28 saves while conceding just two goals.
Series History: Tampa leads the all-time series with a 2-1-0 record against Embry-Riddle. The Eagles won the last matchup last season 1-0 with a goal by Isabelle Haaranen in the 77th minute.
Tickets: General Admission ticket prices for all Florida Southern regular season athletic events are $5 for adults and $3 for Seniors, Military and visiting students. Youth (ages 12 and under) are admitted free of charge.
