Spartans and Panthers Set for Senior Night Showdown
Tampa will look to end the season on a high note as they host FIT for the final match of the regular season
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's soccer team looks to end their regular season with a victory as they host the Florida Tech Panthers on Saturday at 7 p.m. The game will also be Senior Night for the Spartans.
The Matchup: University of Tampa (5-7-2 Overall, 3-3-2 SSC) vs. Florida Tech (9-4-0 Overall, 4-4-0 SSC)
• The Spartans will have their hands full on defense as Florida Tech is ranked second in the conference in shots on goal per game at 8.69 and comes into the match averaging 1.54 goals per game.
• The match will be crucial for both sides position in the standings as Florida Tech currently sits in fourth place and Tampa currently sits in fifth place.

Last Time Out: UT traveled to St. Leo, Fla. to take on Saint Leo University in a midweek conference matchup. Tampa scored late in the game as Miranda Gonzalez met a cross off a corner kick taken by Alexa Sheridan and sent it into the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1 in the 88th minute and force extra time with neither side being able to find the game-winner and the match ending as a draw.
About the Spartans: The Spartans will be looking to finish the season with a win as they jostle for position in the conference standings prior to the conference tournament. In their last five games, the team has gone 2-1-2 with all five games ending in extra time. On offense, the team is led by Nastasia Asgedom who has recorded three goals and three assists while seven other players have scored at least one goal. In net, Caroline Frykgard has played the most minutes and has 40 saves and has conceded eight goals in 786 minutes played.
About the Panthers: The Panthers are coming off a 2-1 victory at home over Palm Beach Atlantic on Monday. The Sailfish took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break but the Panthers scored two goals in the second half to complete the comeback victory. On offense, the team is led by Keira McCarthy who has tallied eight goals this season in 11 matches played. In net, Karlyn Prisco has played every minute and tallied 59 saves while conceding just 11 goals in 1180 minutes played.
Series History: Tampa leads the all-time series with a 9-3-6 record against Florida Tech. The Spartans fell to the Panthers last season 3-1 in Melbourne, Fla.
Tickets: Tickets for are $5 for adults, senior citizens, and coaches. Children under 12 will be admitted free. UT students, faculty, and staff will be admitted free with a valid student ID.
