Buccaneers Spoil Spartans' Upset Bid
The University of Tampa falls to Barry on a shot off the post.

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's soccer team fell to No. 8 Barry University in a 1-0 contest on Saturday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
1st Half | In the first 45 minutes, Megan Bromwell registered four saves on Barry's 11 total shots. The first half went scoreless as the Buccaneers applied pressure on the Spartans defense. Christy Grimshaw logged three of her six shots during the first period of play.
2nd Half | Lacy Nasello was charged with a yellow card in the 67th minute. The lone goal came for Barry in the 74th minute as Grimshaw dribbled past the UT defender and ripped a shot across the box, however the shot clanked the post and ricochetted to the foot of Molly Sharpe. Sharpe tapped in the opportunity for her eighth goal of the season, which is tied for second in the SSC. Bromwell finished the night with nine saves on Barry's 20 total shots.
INSIDE THE STATS:
- Bromwell's nine saves are the most since September 2nd against No. 18 Mississippi College.
- This was the first time since October 8th, 2010 that UT has gone without a shot on goal.
