Spartans Downed by Fighting Knights
The University of Tampa dropped their road matchup against Lynn University.

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's soccer team were defeated by Lynn University on a first half rocket from 18 yards out.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
1st Half | Tampa applied pressure throughout the first 45 minutes as they ripped off nine total shots, two of which reached target. Libby Wissman led the team with two shots in the first half. In the 26th minute, Emily Weisberg tallied her third goal of the season on a laser from about 18 yards out. Weisberg's score ties her for the team lead with Morgan Meltzer.
2nd Half | In the 76th minute, a yellow card was given to each team as Robyn-Anne Whittaker received her first caution of the year. For Lynn, the yellow card was given to Kyla Gill. Alex Jackson registered the only shot on goal in the half for either team. Megan Bromwell recorded two saves on the evening, however she did not have a save opportunity in the second half.
INSIDE THE STATS:
- Tampa logged five corner kicks while Lynn did not take a corner.
- Five starters played the entire match for Tampa.
- This was the ninth match decided by one goal or less.
