HOW IT HAPPENED:
1st Half | The Spartans laced off ten shots while Dana Ruchti logged four saves in the opening half. In the 24th minute, Libby Wissman provided the best opportunity of the half for UT as Moeko Morse nut-megged the Embry-Riddle defender and led Wissman inside the 18 yard box on a break-away, but the junior from Tampa missed wide to the left. Embry-Riddle took the lead in the 43rd minute, as Ragnheidur Gardarsdo ripped a shot at Megan Bromwell, however the ball escaped through the hands of Bromwell into the back of the net.
2nd Half | Tampa did not take long to equalize the score as Wissman roped a long-ball directly at Ruchti in the 52nd minute. The saved shot fell to the feet of Lisa Caprara, who was waiting for the rebound, and she cashed in her first goal as a Spartan. In the 69th minute, the Louisville transfer Alex Jackson threaded a 20 yard through-ball to Robyn-Anne Whittaker. Whittaker took a few dribbles before slotting the game-winning goal, across the face of the goalie, into the lower left corner. The goal was the first of the year for the senior from Coconut Creek, Fla. Bromwell logged three saves on the evening, totaling 44 saves in 14 games played this season.
