Spartans Set for Senior Night
The University of Tampa will host Florida Tech on Saturday evening.
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's soccer team welcomes Florida Tech for a Saturday night clash as we honor our senior athletes for their respective careers on and off the field. The Spartans are currently riding a six-match unbeaten streak at Pepin Stadium, the longest streak since 2015 when Tampa went 7-0-2 at home.
The Matchup: University of Tampa Spartans (6-4-4, 4-2-2 SSC) vs. Florida Tech Panthers (7-7-1, 4-4 SSC)

Last Time Out: Tampa rallied in the second half to knock off Embry-Riddle 2-1 on Wednesday evening. Lisa Caprara and Robyn-Anne Whittaker each scored their first goal's of the season. Alex Jackson led Whittaker on a crisp through-ball for a breakaway, and the senior logged the game-winner in the 68th minute. The Spartans secured their fourth conference victory for the ninth consecutive season. It was the tenth match decided by one goal or less this season.
About the Spartans: UT will look to grab their fifth conference win of the year, for the first time since 2015 when they eventually reached the NCAA South Region Final. The Spartans have only lost once at home this season, to Queens (N.C.) on September 7, but have collected four wins at Pepin Stadium since that loss. Moeko Morse leads the team with six goals on the season, which is tied for the lead among freshman in the Sunshine State Conference. The forward from Chesapeake, Va. has scored the most goals for a UT freshman since 2014 when Madison Cox registered six goals in 19 games played. Megan Bromwell has tallied 44 saves in 14 games played. The sophomore transfer from Hamilton, NJ has earned two clean sheets in her first season as a Spartan. Nastasia Asgedom is third on the team with seven points as she's scored twice and assisted on three goals.
About the Panthers: Florida Tech topped Lynn University 3-2 on Senior Night this past Wednesday. Freshman Maria Munoz tallied the game-winner for her sixth goal of the season, which tied Morse for the SSC lead. Keira McCarthy leads the Panthers with eight goals, in addition to three assists, which also gives her the lead in points with 19. McCarthy is tied for third in the SSC in terms of goals scored. Maria Sanchez Recuero has started in net in all 15 matches this season. The redshirt freshman from Madrid, Spain has racked up 80 saves and logged four clean sheets.
All-Time Series: The Spartans hold a commanding 11-3-7 advantage in the series history. In 10 matches at Pepin Stadium, Tampa is undefeated against Florida Tech as UT has won seven while drawing in three.
Tickets: General Admission ticket prices for all Tampa regular season athletic events are $5. Youth (ages 12 and under) are admitted free of charge. Students and faculty/staff are admitted free with a valid UT ID.
