Spartans Pick Up Second Win Of The Weekend
WINTER PARK, Fla. - After defeating Florida A&M University on Friday, The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams traveled to Rollins College where it picked up a pair of wins over the Tars. The Spartan men won 105-82 while its women prevailed 104-87.
Tampa started the meet with a victory from its 200 Medley Relay team of Ellie Eshleman, Michelle Walcker, Lindsay Calimer and Jessie Bardin.
Madaleine Clarke won the 1,000 Free while Jillian Palmer took a pair of races in the 200 Free and 100 Free. Emilee Margiotta (50 Free), Kelsey Lubbers (400 IM) and Amy O'Brien (100 Fly) also finished first in their respective races for Tampa.
The UT men's team won the 200 Medley Relay as Patrick Murray Sherif Ibrahim, Paul LaPorta and Blaine Bess outpaced all opponents.
Other Spartans to win included Chris O'Linger (1,000 Free), Bess (200 Free), Robert Felton (400 IM), Justin Waterman (100 Fly) and Paul LaPorta (100 Free).
Tampa is now off for nearly a month, as it will return to the pool on Sat., Dec. 12, when it hosts Wright State University. The meet is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the UT Swimming Complex.
