Wright State Defeats Tampa In Swimming
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams were defeated by NCAA division I opponent Wright State in action on Saturday at the UT Swimming Complex.
On the women's side, Wright State tallied 184.5 points while the Spartans earned 77.5. The Raiders picked up a 170-92 victory in men's action.
UT's Amy O'Brien was the lone Spartan to capture an individual race as freshman from Lexington, Mass., won the 50 Free with a time of 25.18.
Tampa's men took the top two spots in the 200 Fly as Robert Felton (1:58.73) and Roman Dagesh (1:59.40) were the first to hit the finish. Freshman David Humphrey also earned a first-place finish in the 50 Free with a time of 21.86.
UT returns to action on Dec. 19 as it begins competition at the annual Delta State Invitational. The three day event will feature several top NCAA Division II teams in Cleveland, Miss.
