UT Concludes Busy Day With Afternoon Event
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams braved record-low temperatures with its second of two meets on Wednesday at the Tampa Relays. In afternoon action, the Spartans finished second in both meets to the University of Iowa.
In women's action, the Hawkeyes registered 208 points as Tampa came in with 146. Indiana University of Pennsylvania also competed, tallying 52 points. On the men's side, Iowa scored 226 as UT had 142. IUP came in with 62.
UT's women picked up a win in the 300 Back Relay as the team of Jessie Bardin, Kelsey Lubbers and Ellie Eshleman came in first with a time of 3:03.71.
The Spartans men championed the 300 Fly Relay with Patrick Murray, Roman Sereda and Daniel Hernandez recording a first-place time of 2:40.13.
Tampa is back in action on Monday as it hosts Emory University at 11 a.m. The meet will take place at the UT Swimming Complex.
