Pair of Spartan Swimmers Earn Academic All-District Honors
TAMPA, Fla. - University of Tampa swimmers Stephanie Branham and Tyler Furrer were each named to the 2010 CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Teams for the at-large categories, as announced by the Academic All-America® Committee.
Branham was a first-team selection as she carries a perfect 4.0 GPA while majoring in math. The Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., native also excelled in the pool as a two-time All-American. She achieved the status as a junior and senior.
Furrer earned second-team consideration with a 3.75 GPA. The senior finance major from Gig Harbor, Wash., was also a four-time All-American.
Nominations and voting for the All-America programs are conducted by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America. There is a University Division (Division I programs) and a College Division (DII, DIII, NAIA, NJCAA programs). First-team selections will now appear on the ballot for Academic All-American consideration.
