Spartans Continue to Hold Top-10 Swimming Ranking
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Following a successful start to the 2012-13 season, the University of Tampa appears in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) top-25 for both the men and women.
The Spartan men are now No. 9, with the women coming in at No. 10. Both teams have been ranked throughout the 2012-13 season as the men hold their top ranking of the season while the women were previously No. 6.
Tampa's men recently captured a team title at the four-day Nova Southeastern Invitational. UT also have victories over Nova Southeastern and Florida Tech this season.
UT's women were second at the NSU Invite, and have won dual meets over Nova Southeastern, Florida Tech, Saint Leo, Lynn and Florida Southern.
Several Spartans have achieved NCAA qualifying times this season, earning an opportunity to compete at the 2013 NCAA Division II Championships in Cleveland. The championships are scheduled for March 6-9.
The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division 2 Swimming and Diving Team Rankings are voted on by six CSCAA member coaches. The rankings will be released three times during 2012-13 season.
