After Leading Team to Pair of Wins, Norbert Kovacs Collects SSC Honors
ORLANDO, Fla. - University of Tampa senior Norbert Kovacs has been tabbed Sunshine State Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week presented by VALIC.
Kovacs (Budapest, Hungary) earned a pair of individual wins in two victories for the No. 9 Spartans. In a 169-88 win over Division III No. 5 Emory, Kovacs won the 200-yard butterfly with a mark of 1:55.05. That time is the ninth fastest among SSC swimmers this season. He then notched an NCAA Division II "B" standard in a 124-77 victory versus Rollins. Kovacs won the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:07.48, which is fourth fastest in the league.
