Tampa Falls By Slim Margin in Final Regular-Season Competition
The Spartans now focus on the SSC Championships.
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's swimming team fell in a Sunshine State Conference meet against Saint Leo University on Friday afternoon in its regular-season finale and final home meet of the 2016-17 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Tampa took a total of three first-place finishes in the meet.
• SLU won both relay races.
TOP PERFORMERS:
• UT had its first win of the afternoon in the 200 Fly as Victoria Horsman emerged as the fastest with a time of 2:12.86.
• Senior Marisa Barton won the 50 Free with a time of 24.39. Teammate Allison Hutchins was third at 25.45.
• Tampa also had a first-place effort from Sophie Long in the 100 Fly as she was clocked at 59.17. Izzy Spalding was third with a 59.99 effort.
UP NEXT:
The Spartans now set their sites on the postseason, beginning with the 2017 Sunshine State Conference Championships. The event is scheduled for February 16-19 at the YMCA Aquatic Center in Orlando.
