Spartans Take Second Win in As Many Days
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The 28th ranked University of Tampa tennis team followed up a home victory on Thursday with a 5-4 win over Palm Beach Atlantic on the road. The victory in the regional matchup moves Tampa to 2-5 on the year as Palm Beach Atlantic falls to 3-1.
A match that was originally scheduled for February 9, the teams were forced to reschedule due to inclement weather halfway through the original match.
The Spartans took two of the three doubles matches as the teams of Caitlin Scudder/Emily Kennedy and Kourtney Stark/Ally Wooten were each victorious from the number two and three spots.
Tampa then took three of the six singles matches as UT picked up wins from the four, five and six positions. Scudder, Kennedy and Wooten each registered victories in singles play.
The Spartans return to the court on Saturday as they meet #16 Barry in Miami Shores. The match is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
