Tampa Blanks Bentley in Dominant Form
The Spartans dropped just seven games is the 9-0 victory.
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa tennis team returned home and easily defeated visiting Bentley University in the first of four straight matches on its home court.

- Tampa took all three doubles matches, surrendering just two games.
- The number-one duo of Caroline Lozo and Emily Hewland won 8-2.
- Lilley Nice and Maddie Stephens were victorious at two by an 8-0 tally.
- In the number-three match, Ava Sowell and Danielle Beyes also won 8-0.
- Lozo, Hewland and Nice took the first three matches by straight set sweeps of 6-0, 6-0.
- Stephens won at four by a count of 6-1, 6-2.
- The number-five match went to Sowell, who won 6-1, 6-1.
- In her first regular-season match, Gianna Pinasco was victorious at six singles by a score of 6-0, 6-0.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Stephens is a perfect 8-0 in singles play this season. The sophomore is 5-0 at number-four and also won three matches at the UT invite to open the regular season.
- Nice is a perfect 5-0 in dual match singles play.
- The Spartans are a perfect 10-0 this season in the number four and five singles slots.
