Spartans Take Regular-Season Opener Over SCF
UT wins eight of nine matches in first dual match.
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa tennis team was victorious in its first dual match of the 2018 season, defeating the State College of Florida.

- Tampa took all three doubles matches, and five of the six singles events.
- The number one team of Caroline Lozo and Corbin Dorsey won 8-6.
- At two, Maddie Stephens and Vanina Iordanova blanked their opponent 8-0.
- Lilley Nice and Gianna Pinasco won at three by default.
- UT won the two, three, four and five matches, along with the six singles event by default.
- Iordanova took the number two match in straight sets.
- Also defeating their opponents were Stephens, Dorsey and Amanda Baxter.
- Baxter won her first collegiate singles match 6-0, 6-0.
- Danielle Beyes won at six by default.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- This marks UT's second straight win in a season opener.
