UT Narrowly Defeated in First of Three Matches in Texas
Tampa regroups to take four of six singles matches.
AUSTIN, Texas – In its first of three matches in a spring break tour of the Lone Star state, the University of Tampa tennis team fell 5-4 to undefeated St. Edward's University.

- St. Edward's took all three doubles contests.
- The Spartans nearly overtook the Hilltoppers, taking four singles matches.
- Maddie Stephens was victorious at number-two singles, 4-6, 6-1, 11-9.
- In number-three, Vanina Iordanova claimed a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
- Lilley Nice won in three sets on the four court by scores of 6-2, 1-6, 6-4.
- Freshman Corbin Dorsey won at five, 5-7, 6-4, 10-4.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- The match was a battle of regionally-ranked teams, as St. Edward's is No. 4, and Tampa No. 9.
