Bio

Jessica Sucupira is in her fourth year as a volunteer assistant coach for the UT tennis team.

She attended Florida State University for four years graduating in 2010 with a degree in hospitality. As a senior, she was selected as the one female in college tennis as the recipient of the ITA Arthur Ashe Award for Leadership and Sportsmanship.

Jessica has the second-highest winning record at FSU with 101 singles wins and 91 doubles victories. She led FSU her senior year to their highest national finish with an appearance in the round of Sweet 16 at the NCAA championships.

She capped off her prep career with the Texas state championship in 2005 and was selected to the first-ever Junior Fed Cup team in Texas. She was ranked No. 12 in the nation in doubles her senior year and was also a member of the National Honor Society.

Born in Waterloo, Iowa to Janet and Larry Wente, Jessica is married to Jonathas Sucupira, who also played tennis at FSU. She and Jonathas have two daughters, Jennifer and Juliana.
