No. 19 Spartans Roll Tars in 3-0 Sweep
Senior Allee Stelogeannis posted 12 kills, 10 digs and three service aces as Tampa topped Rollins in consecutive sets on Saturday.
TAMPA, Fla. – The No. 19 University of Tampa volleyball team trounced Rollins College by a 3-0 final score on Saturday at the Bob Martinez Athletics Center. Outside hitters Allee Stelogeannis and Nicole Dominguez bounced 23 kills combined at a .417 clip to pave the Tars in straight-sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Set 1 | Freshman Dominguez delivered a four-kill salvo in the opening set to lead UT. Senior Stelogeannis peppered three kills at a solid .429 attack percentage as Tampa took the opening frame 25-20 over Rollins.
Set 2 | Outside hitter Stelogeannis tore through the Rollins defense, blasting six kills while Alexandra Misca provided a strong compliment in the middle, swatting four kills at a .571 clip. Tars outside hitter Shannon McDonough totaled five kills to lead the opposition but Tampa came away with the second frame by a 25-22 score.
Set 3 | The Spartans closed out the match by hitting at a .423 attack percentage as a team. Dominguez hit a scorching 4-for-6 in the last stanza while Misca and Stelogeannis each contributed a trio of kills. Tampa rolled Rollins 25-19 to complete the sweep.
INSIDE THE STATS:
• Tampa hit .362 as a team across the three sets of play, its highest combined attack percentage since the first game of the season (Franklin Pierce, 3-0, 9/2)
• The Spartans posted a .982 reception percentage, allowing a lone ace in 55 opposing serves. That number is the highest since Sept. 2 when Tampa did not record a reception error against Franklin Pierce.
• Outside hitter Stelogeannis served a trio of aces, tying her season-high. The Ocala, Fla. native concludes the weekend as the Sunshine State Conference leader in kills per set with an average of 4.68 over 41 sets.
• Sophomore Misca increases her SSC-leading attack percentage after posting a career-high .643 clip (9-0-14). Over 11 games of play, the middle hitter is terminating the ball at a solid .400 rate.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
• Tampa completed its fourth sweep of the season, taking straight set wins over Franklin Pierce, Indianapolis and Lock Haven earlier in the 2016 campaign.
• Senior Stelogeannis notched her sixth double-double of the season and has recorded double-digit kills in all 11 of Tampa's contests this season.
• The Spartans are now 81-5 all-time against the Tars.
• UT recorded 37 digs as a team, the lowest number this season.
