Tampa Continues as No. 19 Team in AVCA Poll
The UT volleyball team spends its second week as the No. 19 ranked team in Division II.
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Tampa volleyball team continues to hold steady as the No. 19 team as released by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II coaches poll, Monday.
The Spartans continue as the No. 19 team in the nation after a 2-0 week which saw victories over Embry-Riddle and Rollins.
Concordia – St. Paul remains the No. 1 team in the division while Minnesota-Duluth and Nebraska-Kearney continue their reign as the No. 2 and No. 3 teams, respectively. Southwest Minnesota State slides into No. 4 while 2015 national champions, Wheeling Jesuit, sit No. 5.
Provisional Sunshine State Conference member Palm Beach Atlantic moves up a spot to No. 15 while current SSC foe and Tuesday night opponent Florida Southern College hangs onto the No. 21 rank.
Regional opponents West Florida and North Alabama enter the week ranked No. 22 and No. 24 respectively.
The Spartans have now been ranked in 274 consecutive polling periods dating back to the 1995 campaign. The record is second only to No. 6 Central Missouri.
