Lynn Completes Takedown of Tampa 3-1
The No. 22 Tampa volleyball team fell in four sets to Lynn University on Saturday.
BOCA RATON, Fla. – In a tough-fought contest on the road, the No. 22 University of Tampa volleyball team fell to Lynn University by a 3-1 final score at the de Hoernle Center on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Set 1 | The opening set saw five tie scores as both teams looked to build momentum. The Spartans turned to senior Allee Stelogeannis in the first frame, as the outside hitter blasted five kills to lead both squads in the first stanza. The Fighting Knights saw a rebound from Lydia West, as the senior middle blocker posted four kills to lead the Lynn attack after a tough outing the night prior. Libero Logan Holanchock kicked off the match with a solid five-dig set to keep the tempo and give Tampa a 25-22 win to begin play.
Set 2 | Right side hitter Nicol Colonna led Lynn to a second set win, peppering five kills at a .400 clip. Middle blocker Alexandra Misca swung at a solid 5-for-6 with one attack error in the set for a .667 attack percentage. Holanchock added seven more digs to her stat line, remaining stalwart in the Tampa back row.
Set 3 | Lynn took the third set by a 25-23 score behind the 6-for-7 swing of West. Outside hitter Cristina Llorens added five errorless kills as UT was barely beaten in the third frame. Stelogeannis posted six kills while freshman Katie McKiel posted three in the third set.
Set 4 | The fourth stanza came down to the wire, ending in a 30-28 win in favor of the Fighting Knights. West finished with another five kills while Llorens added eight to finish the match.
INSIDE THE STATS:
• Stelogeannis posted a match-high 23 kills, tying her own career record set on Sept. 2 against Henderson State earlier this season. The outside hitter added 11 digs for her 18th double-double of the season.
• Sophomore Gen Beaumier totaled 11 kills, four digs, three assists, two service aces and a block in her most rounded effort to date.
• Sophomore Holanchock totaled 22 digs, eclipsing 20-digs in each match this week and bringing her total to 71 across 14 sets.
• Lynn's offense was led by West, as the senior notched 19 kills at a blistering .533 clip. Three other Fighting Knight's recorded double-digit kills as Lynn used a rounded offense to take the match.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
• Lynn becomes the second squad this season to post its second all-time win against the Spartans, as UT holds the all-time series record with a 39-2 advantage. Both wins for the Fighting Knights came at home in the de Hoernle Center.
