WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The No. 12 University of Tampa Spartans hand the No. 3 Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish their first loss of the season in a clean sweep. The Spartans reeled in the Sailfish by set scores of 25-21, 25-22, and 26-24.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Spartans offense was led by outside hitter Sorrel Houghton and middle blocker Taylor Fosler who each ended the match with 12 kills at a .200 and a .296 hitting percentage respectively. Following their efforts was that of outside hitter Katie McKiel who earned a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs for the Spartans. Sammy Mueller quarterbacked the offense, totaling 31 assists. Other key contributors were right side hitter, Melissa Elias, who earned her second double-double of the season with 10 assists and 10 digs. Additionally, she contributed to the Spartans offensive success with eight kills. On defense, the duo of Nicole Dominguez and Claudia Rivera each ended the game with 14 total digs.
INSIDE THE STATS:
• Sorrel Houghton and Taylor Fosler led the Spartans in kills for the night with a total of 12.
• Nicole Dominguez and Claudia Rivera led the Spartans in digs with 14.
• Sammy Mueller recorded a total of 31 assists.
• Melissa Elias recorded the only double-double of the night with 10 assists and 10 digs.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
Tampa leads the all-time series against the Sailfish 10-4.
