Tampa Earns Return Trip to NCAA Women's Cross Country Championships

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The University of Tampa women's cross country team competed at the 2024 NCAA South Regional at John Hunt Park, finishing second overall to advance to the NCAA National Championships.
The Spartans finished with 79 points, trailing only team champion Lee University, who had 18. Nova Southeastern University was third as the Sharks also advance to the championships. Lee's Aria Hawkins took the individual championship as she finished the 6K in 20:32.25.
Top Tampa Runners
- Lindsey Volkman paced the Spartans again, finishing 10th overall after finishing in 21:57.13.
- Next to finish was Jessica Hernandez as her time of 22:21.87 was good for 15th place.
- Freshman Hannah Diete followed in 16th place with a time of 22:26.10.
- Classmate Mary Richmond also finished inside the top-20 in 18th place as her time was 22:35.46.
- Taylor Guthrie placed inside the Spartans top five with a time of 22:44.76 to rank 21st.
- Also competing for head coach Logan Wells were Emily Kriney and Tabitha Suggs.
