Bio

Dan Guthrie is in his first year at his alma mater where he serves as Assistant Director of Athletic Communications. He previously worked under current Communications Director, Tom Kolbe as a Student Assistant during his undergrad at the University of Tampa.

At Tampa, Guthrie oversees all social media for the Athletic Department’s social media platforms as well as all media production. He serves as the sport contact for UT’s Indoor and Beach Volleyball teams, as well as the Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse teams where he is responsible for statistics, social media, and media coverage for each team. In his first year, he directed the Division II Volleyball National Championship at the Bob Martinez Center, where he collected his first National Championship with Tampa’s 2021 Volleyball team.

During his time at the University of Tampa, Guthrie served as a student assistant coach for the Men’s Basketball team under the program’s winningest Head Coach, Richard Schimdt. 

Outside of UT, Guthrie has been involved with other organizations and events in the Tampa Bay area. In the spring of 2021, he served as a Public Relations assistant for Super Bowl LV, as well as a social media member for the event. He is also currently in his third season as a Public Relations Assistant for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also served as the Media Relations Intern for the New York Yankees where he handled daily clips and game notes for ownership and media personnel. 

Dan currently holds the position of South Region Coordinator for the Sunshine State Conference, Gulf South Conference, and the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference where he helps coordinate voting between conference SIDs for the Division II Conference Commisioner’s Association (CCA).
