Bio
Santiago Lopez was hired as the Assistant Athletic Communications Director in 2019. The 2014 graduate of Saint Leo University serves as the main contact for volleyball, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, and beach volleyball. Santiago is also a voter for the D2SIDA women's basketball regional poll.
Santiago earned his experience in Athletic Communications as a student worker at Saint Leo University and also served as a post-graduate intern at the University of Tampa. During his time as a post-graduate internship, Santiago helped work the NCAA Volleyball National Championships and promoted the Tampa Spartans victory over the Philadelphia Phillies during the first game of the 2015 MLB preseason.
A native of Tampa, Florida, his experience includes working in the Florida Collegiate Summer League, as a team operations intern for the Sanford River Rats. The FCSL is a summer baseball league for current collegiate athletes. Santiago has also worked for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the guest and member relations Department.
Lopez earned his bachelor's degree in sport business from Saint Leo University and earned a Masters in Marketing from the University of Tampa.
He is a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
He is married to Natasha and they reside in Tampa with their daughter Elena.
