Bio

Pia Henriksson swam for the Spartans from 1981-83. Is considered the pioneer of UT swimming. She was the first to bring the Spartans into national prominence. Henriksson was Tampa’s first individual national champion and All-American in swimming. She twice won national championship events, championing the 500 Free in 1981 and the 400 IM in 1983. Her 500 freestyle time remains a school record with a time of 4:55.58. She was the first three-time All-American for UT.
