Bio

Steve Mauldin was a member of the baseball team from 1987-90. Among his accomplishments were being named 1989 and 1990 first-team all-South Region. The 1990 NCAA South Regional all-tournament team selection was also named 1990 first-team all-SSC and 1989 second-team all-SSC after being a 1988 honorable mention all-SSC choice as a sophomore. He remains the only student-athlete in UT history to be a three-time Academic All-American (1988-90). While playing in 182 career games as a four-year letter winner, Mauldin hit over .300 each year. He finished his career with a .358 batting average, including clips of .380 and .386 in his junior and senior seasons respectively. He also had 134 runs, 239 hits, 37 doubles, six triples and 133 RBI’s to go with 34 stolen bases while finishing his career with a .977 fielding percentage.
