Bio

Richard Schmidt in 21 years has guided Tampa basketball to 14 NCAA II Tournament appearances including one Final Four, eight SSC Championships and has received six SSC Coach of the Year awards. He re-started the basketball program at UT in 1982 after a 13-year hiatus and took a starting lineup of four freshmen and one junior to win the SSC Tournament Championship and become the first team in any division to win an NCAA Tournament bid in its first year.
