Tampa Wraps Up Seminole Beach Bash with Three Matches
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The University of Tampa beach volleyball team wrapped up its opening weekend at the Seminole Beach Bash with three contests against teams ranked in the national poll.
Dual 1:
Tampa opened their three-match day with the eighth-ranked Loyola Marymount University Lions. The Lions were able to control the match with the Spartans as they would claim the 5-0 victory, winning four of the games in two sets. The lone match to go all three sets would be in the third position as Katie McKiel and Valerie Rosequist would take a set.

In the second game of the day, Tampa would square off against the 18th ranked Georgia State Panthers. Mckiel and Rosequist were able to break through for UT, as they would claim the game victory. The duo on court three would sweep their opponents, winning 23-21 and 21-15.

In their final match of the opening weekend, the Spartans would face the third-ranked Florida State Seminoles. FSU was able to claim their fourth win of the weekend, as they would sweep UT in all five games.

The Spartans will return to action next weekend as they host the Tampa Tournament. UT will have two games on Friday as they host Mercer University and Florida Gulf Coast University. The tournament wraps up on Saturday, as the Spartans will close the weekend out against Eckerd College and Jacksonville University.
