Spartans Cast Net over Sailfish
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa beach volleyball returned to action Friday afternoon, as they would host the Palm Beach Atlantic University Sailfish in a doubleheader. Tampa would win the day as they won the first game 3-2, while taking the second game 4-1.

In the first of two games of the day, the two teams played an even match throughout the sets, as the game would come down to a decisive matchup in the three spot. The pair of Tatiana Gutierrez and Katie McKiel would win 2-0, giving UT a 3-2 overall win.

In the second game of the day, the Spartans would not allow the game to come down to the last match, as they would claim a 4-1 victory. Three of the four wins would come in straight sets, as the only three-set match would be in the three spot. The duo of Valerie Rosequist and Melissa Elias would claim their first victory as partners playing in the one spot.

The Spartans will be back in action next weekend as they head down to Miami playing at the FIU Surf and Turf. On Friday they are slated to play Florida Memorial, while on Saturday they are scheduled to play Tulane and Florida Atlantic.
