Beach Volleyball Advances to Gold Bracket
TAVERAS, Fla. - The University of Tampa beach volleyball continued into day two of the AVCA Small College Beach Championships, as they faced off against Colorado Mesa University and Saint Leo University. The Spartans would sweep the day earning a first-round bye in the gold bracket playoffs.
In the first game of the day, Tampa and Colorado Mesa would meet in the battle of unbeaten teams in Pool 1. Tampa would claim a 3-0 victory to win the pool. The three victories would come in straight sets for UT.
In the second match of the day, UT faced a familiar foe, Saint Leo, in a challenge match. UT would again claim the victory, as they would win 5-0 over the Lions. Tampa would again win all matches in straight sets, setting them up for Championship Sunday.

Tampa received a first-round bye and will face the winner of Colorado Mesa and Texas A&M Kingsville at 11:00 A.M. If the Spartans win that game, they will then play in the championship game at 1:00 P.M.
