Jordan Leasure Named First-Team All-American
TAMPA, Fla. - University of Tampa pitcher Jordan Leasure has been announced as a first-team All-American selection by a pair of organizations, with ABCA/Rawlings and thew D2CCA recognizing the national ERA leader.
Leasure, a junior pitcher from Tampa, enters the 2021 NCAA National Championship Series in Cary, N.C., with a 2-1 record to go with five saves. In 32.1 innings of work, Leasure has struck out 49 opposing hitters while walking just four.
Also the 2021 Sunshine State Conference Pitcher of the Year, Leasure boasts the top ERA in the nation while also ranking third in hits per 9 innings (4.73), third in strikeout to walk ratio (12.25), 15th in strikeouts per 9 innings (13.64), first in WHIP (0.65) and 16th in walks per 9 innings (1.11).
ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. II All-Region First Team selections, which were announced on Wednesday, were nominated for All-America honors. In all divisions, the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Teams will be announced on Wednesday, June 23, followed by the ABCA National Pitchers of the Year on Monday, June 28 and the ABCA Position Players of the Year on Wednesday, June 30. The CCA All-America and All-Region baseball teams, which are selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) members from schools playing Division II baseball, were first established in 2007.
