Former Spartan Shane Thorson Signs Professional Contract
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Former University of Tampa men's basketball standout Shane Thorson has signed a contract with the Grand Rapids Flight of the International Basketball League (IBL).
In his IBL tryout last weekend, Thorson finished the camp as a Top Five Player award winner. In two games, he tallied 24 points and 9 rebounds followed by a 31 points, 10 rebound effort in game two.
The Tampa native and graduate of Tampa Prep was a member of the Spartans from 2004-06 as the three year letterwinner capped off his career with 137 points and 39 rebounds as a senior in 2005-06. He also ranked fourth on the team with 27 three pointers and second with 33 assists.
