UT Set For Conference Showdown With Saint Leo
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's basketball team will put its perfect Sunshine State Conference record on the line as it hosts Saint Leo University on Wednesday at the Bob Martinez Sports Center. The game carries a 7:30 p.m. tip-off, which follows a meeting between the women's teams of the respective schools.
The Spartans are coming off a 66-63 victory over Nova Southeastern on Saturday and own a 7-3 overall record to go with a 2-0 mark in SSC play. The Lions, who are 5-9 overall and 0-2 in SSC action, fell to Lynn on Saturday by a 75-73 score. SLU is looking to snap a five-game skid, though four of the losses have come by six-or-less points.
Tampa carries a 48-11 record in the all-time series as the two teams split last season with each winning at home. The Spartans are winners of three consecutive games over the Lions at the Martinez Center.
