Tampa Basketball speaks with College Hunks CEO Nick Friedman
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa Men's Basketball team hosted entrepreneur, television personality and co-founder of College Hunks Moving, Nick Friedman.
Nick Friedman, who met with the program prior to the start of the 2019-20 season shared his experiences as a public speaker and television personality – most notably his appearances on ABC's Shark Tank, Bravo Network's Millionaire Matchmaker, FOX Business News and many other national outlets. He then went on to discuss his journey as an entrepreneur and the long laborious process of starting up a company with his business partner, Omar Soliman.
A former collegiate basketball player himself, Nick discussed some of the core values of his company – "The foundation of any successful winning sports team, or any successful organization is the foundation of trust."
He went on to discuss how his college education aided his entrepreneurial drive. "All of the things I did in school, I think helped prepare me – everything in our past, everything in our history is preparation for the future. Because our experiences form our thoughts, our thoughts lead to our attitude, our attitude lead to our actions, and that's what leads to our future results."
Associate Head Coach Justin Pecka, who organized the speaking engagement, had this to say about the speech Friedman gave to the team, "he did a great job explaining how building a company is very similar to building a basketball team – it takes all types of positions and roles for a team to be successful." He would then go on to discuss the culture of the organization saying, "the culture that Nick and his business partner Omar have cultivated at College Hunks Hauling Junk is something we will definitely try to emulate with our basketball program."
Friedman concluded by wishing the team a successful season as they open up non-conference play in early November.
