Jonty Marshall Leads Spartans in Season Opener
BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's golf team opened its 2022-23 campaign with a fifth-place team finish at The Griffin Invitational.

- Ben Loudermilk | 26th overall, 221 (+5)
- Aadam Syed | 33rd overall, 223 (+7)
- Henry Tschopp | 33rd overall, 223 (+7)
- Derek Sanderson | 39th overall, 224 (+8)
OTHER NOTABLES:
- Marshall opened the season as the top golfer in the Spartan lineup. Lucas Cena competed as an individual and finished with a 217, placing 10th overall.
- Porter Brackett made his UT debut, carding a three-round score of 219 to place 18th overall as an individual.
- Loudermilk finished play with a third-round score of 70 on Tuesday, marking the low round for all Spartans.
- Cena recorded a 71 in each of the first two rounds.
- A total of 13 teams competed.
- Barry's A.J. Ewart was the medalist with a 205 (-11), winning by five strokes.
- Joining the Spartans and host Saint Leo (6) from the Sunshine State Conference were Barry (2), Nova Southeastern (3), Lynn (4), Florida Southern (7), Palm Beach Atlantic (8), Rollins (9) and Eckerd (12).
