Dickerson Named Player of the Year
BALTIMORE, MD. – The University of Tampa's Ross Dickerson has been named Inside Lacrosse Men's DII Player of the Year. Dickerson earns the award after leading the Spartans to an 8-0 record and being ranked third in the nation in the final poll. This is the first time a Spartan player has been named Inside Lacrosse Player of the Year
Dickerson led the way for Tampa in the faceoff circle as he won 81.3 % (118-145) of faceoffs taken, which ranked him third in the NCAA. He also would collect over 10 groundballs per game which ranked fifth in the nation. Along with those stats, he would also score one goal, dish out two assists and had a shot on goal percentage of 83.3.
Dickerson holds a commanding lead in the all-time record book for career ground balls (480) and places second in career faceoff win-loss percentage (.760). He is a two time First Team All-SSC Selection, one-time USILA All-America South Region Second Team Selection, one time All-American USILA Second Team Selection, and in 2019 he was selected as the Sunshine State Conference All-Championship Team Most Valuable Player. Dickerson has also been a force in the classroom, earning himself a D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award during his time at UT.
Dickerson earned his degree in Sport Management and will be pursuing a graduate degree at the Universit of Tampa.
