Ulmer Named SSC Defensive Player of the Week
MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Unversity of Tampa's Blake Ulmer has been named Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.
Ulmer takes Defensive Player of the Week honors following his performance in a 14-9 Tampa victory over Florida Tech. The Naples, Florida native recorded 13 saves while facing 31 shots. He allowed nine goals total, holding the Panthers under 10 goals scored for the second time this season. Ulmer also picked up three ground balls and posted a .591 save percentage as the Spartans remain perfect on the year. The weekly award is the third of his career.
Ulmer and the rest of the Spartans will be back in action on Wednesday, as they host the Saint Leo University Lions. Game is set for 8:00 p.m.
