Spartans and Bulldogs Collide with Final Four Trip to Boston on the Line
TAMPA, Fla. – The top-seeded and undefeated University of Tampa men's lacrosse team continues its NCAA postseason run as it hosts No. 6 Wingate in the South Region semifinal on Sunday, May 11, at 1:00 p.m.

Series History: Tampa holds a perfect 4–0 all-time record against Wingate, including a 13–6 win in the first round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament and an 11–10 victory last season. Across the four meetings, the Spartans have averaged over 13 goals per game while limiting the Bulldogs to just over six, winning each contest by an average margin of more than six goals.
About the Spartans: Tampa advanced to the South Region semifinal with a 12–7 win over No. 13 Colorado Mesa in the NCAA first round, extending its perfect season to 19–0. Davis Lindsey, Jackson Bashaw, and Zack Friend combined for 10 goals in the victory, while SSC Tournament MVP and USILA Team of the Week honoree Michael Flores won 15 of 21 faceoffs and added six ground balls. Goalkeeper Connor Theriault remains unbeaten with a 19–0 record and holds a .601 save percentage—sixth best in the nation and fourth among teams still in contention, with only a .026 gap from the top rank. Tampa's high-powered offense is led by Bashaw with 45 goals, Ryan Kemp with 40, and Lindsey with 37.
About the Bulldogs: Wingate enters Sunday's NCAA South Region semifinal at 15–4 following a thrilling 17–16 win over No. 4 Lenoir-Rhyne. The Bulldogs have won five straight, including a run to the South Atlantic Conference Tournament title that featured back-to-back overtime victories. They are led by SAC Offensive Player of the Year Kyle Spence, who leads the nation with 111 total points and 75 assists. Wingate ranks in the top five nationally in scoring offense and total assists and is making its seventh NCAA Tournament appearance, including five in the last six seasons.
