Coach Burdick holds the distinction of being the most decorated coach in the history of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference by coaching more championship teams than any other coach.

While in the MAAC, the Friars qualified for an unprecedented nine-consecutive trips to the conference tournament (2001-09). The program captured four regular-season titles (2003, 2005, 2006 and 2008) and claimed the MAAC Tournament Championship crown in 2004, 2006 and 2007.

In 2010, coach Burdick led the Providence transition into the BIG EAST Conference, as the Friars were competing against the toughest opponents in the country with the likes of Syracuse, Notre Dame and Georgetown, and registered the programs first Big East win over No. 13 ranked Villanova in 2012.

Coach Burdick came to Providence with an impressive resume, having earned valuable experience with some of the top teams in collegiate lacrosse. A 1991 graduate from the University of Delaware, he was one of the top goalkeepers to ever play for the Blue Hens.

Upon graduation from Delaware, Burdick began his coaching career as an assistant at Notre Dame in 1992. He helped guide the Fighting Irish to two-consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament under head coach Kevin Corrigan.

After two years at Notre Dame, coach Burdick returned to Delaware to serve as the defensive coordinator under Bob Shillinglaw for the 15th-ranked Blue Hens in 1994. In 1995, he was named the offensive coordinator. While at Delaware, Burdick earned his master's degree in health, physical education and recreation.

Chris continued to work with top programs when he became an assistant coach for the 12th-ranked UMass Minutemen in 1996 under Greg Canella. At UMass, Burdick coached the team's goalies and worked with the defense. The following year, he went to Cornell to become the assistant head coach. He spent one season with the Big Red under coaching legend Richie Moran before coming to Providence.

A leading coaching educator and lecturer, coach Burdick is the founder and owner of 24 Lacrosse, a camp and coaching network that is home of the Program on the Rise team teaching camp which incorporates an innovative approach to team development using the interactive clinic, a combination of classroom coaching training with on the field observation that has led Lincoln High School in Portland, Oregon to capture four of the state’s last five championships.

In addition, Burdick has been a feature presenter at the IMLCA and US Lacrosse coaching conventions, as well as a lecturer at high school clinics on Long Island and in Massachusetts. In 2012, the 24 Lacrosse staff staged the first interactive coaching workshop as part of the Seattle Stealth’s Winter Coaching Clinic. The Program on the Rise camp has expanded to locations in Oregon, Washington state and Chicago.

Coach Burdick has also served as the president of the MAAC Lacrosse Coaches' Association in 2003, and has been a member of the regional advisory committee for NCAA tournament selection. In 2003, Burdick was selected to coach in the Division I Men’s Lacrosse North/South All-Star game.
