HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Half:
The Lions started the game quickly and put a goal on the board less than one minute into the game. The Spartans would not be fazed and would control most of the play for the beginning stages of the game. However, for the vast majority of the half, it was St. Leo that was creating the shooting chances and looked likely to score again.
Score: 1-0 St. Leo
Second Half:
The two teams spent much of the second half jockeying for control of the game and looking for clear chances at goal. As the clock started to wind down, Tampa started to chase the game more and get more aggressive which led to the game being more physical. St. Leo would gain control of the game and spend a lot of time deep in Tampa territory with five corner kicks in the span of 10 minutes. Tampa's desperation would not be enough as they lose for the first time at home this season.
Final Score: 1-0 St. Leo
