Hammer and Barton Named CollegeSwimming.com Preseason All-Americans
Seniors Martin Hammer and Marisa Barton earn preseason All-America honors after strong performances in the 2015-16 NCAA Division II National Championships.
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's and women's swim team has two student-athletes named to the CollegeSwimming.com preseason All-America team. Seniors Martin Hammer and Marisa Barton were the two selections for the Spartans after strong performances in the 2015-16 season.
Hammer was selected for the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle while Barton earned 50 freestyle honors.
Senior Hammer has already made his mark on the UT swim program as a member of two National Championship events from the previous season. In 2015-16, the Fredrikstad, Norway native was on the 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay squads that won at the NCAA Division II Championships.
Barton was a 2016 All-American after recording a personal-best time of 22.88 in the 50 freestyle at the NCAA Championships in the 2015-16 season. The Crystal Lake, Ill. native returns for her final season with the Spartans.
